This totally reminds me of a Samurai Elric (as in Elric, the doomed albino swordsman from the classic science fiction and fantasy series by Michael Moorcock)... which is totally something I adore the thought of, since Elric has always been one of my all-time favorite fantasy genre characters. So I can see the comparisons to the Elvish prince from the second Hellboy movie, who also looked just like Elric. But your painting here is something that is all its' own and is amazing because it is NOT Elric or that Elvish prince. Rather, it is something completely other, and that is what makes it an amazing and breathtaking work of art. I will most definitely be adding this one to my favorites, for sure! Great work.

I'm really diggin' how this reminds me of old Sci Fi and Fantasy book covers. The Frazetta-like style is an "easy button" for me, admittedly. The face here looks a lot like the prince character in Hellboy 2 and pops out with all the contrasting darkness around it.
