Description
A mid 24th century design by Bernd Scnieder of Ex Astris Scientia. I made a few modifications but other than that it's close to the original design. You can read more about it right here: www.ex-astris-scientia.org/my_…Model by my built in 3DS max and Photoshop.

Nice design, very practical and sturdy without looking ugly.
Really nice!

Gorgeous render of a wonderful design; excellent work on the hull detailing over the source, looks ready for studio work.

First Officer: I have a really, REALLY bad feeling about this.
Captain: Relax. From what I've heard, the Ferengi Ambassador is rather agreeable for a member of his species.
First Officer: That's not what I'm worried about.
Captain: Oh, hush up. It'll be fine.
Engineer: The Ambassador's ship just signaled us, ma'am. He's ready for transport.
Captain: Energize.
*beaming*
Ambassador: Heh, took you long enough-- oh...
Captain: Yes, aha, Star Fleet employs females. You've known this for a long time.
Ambassador: No, not... not that...
First Officer: Let me guess, you can't believe your eyes.
Ambassador: LATINUM! Everything is coated in--
Captain: Well, not "coated in", but rather than tritanium, we used latinum as the principal building material for the ship's interior.
Ambassador: You... you... why?
First Officer: Yeah, when I heard this was a Splendor-class, I thought they were just picking names out of a helmet too.
Engineer: *mutters* You can do a lot with a material when you don't value it as a currency...
Captain: So, should we discuss the new trade agreements?
Ambassador: WHATEVER YOU PUT IN FRONT OF ME I'LL SIGN IT I'LL SIGN EVERYTHING YOU ARE LITERAL GODS

Definitely one way to get the Ferengi to sign a treaty!

Nifty design. Adding some ablative armor making it a tougher nut to crack would be fun. Nice hit and run ship.

Now that would be an excellent refit.

AWESOME!! -Reminds me of the "Minotaur" class that is
set to have been first seen in the late 25th century. I am getting to like the
configuration of higher upper secondary hull over the saucer section and
then the use of downward-set engine pylons.
It's fresh but fits in with the traditional classic designs.
Bravo, Bravo! Very Cool, indeed. Thank you for sharing this one.

Thanks, the design has certainly drown on me too. She's another one of those 'small' ships that we never saw in TNG.

Is it just me or it kinda looks like an upside-down Ambassador-class?

Well she certainly has markings and features of an Ambassador but her profile is wildly different.

She's looking awesome. The Venus class looks quite nice, I reckon that one would be right up your alley for a future ship.

Yeah the Venus looks really interesting. Something of a combination of the two designs, maybe change the deflector somewhat. I might give a crack.

Yup, I wouldn't do it exactly how it is. The secondary hull doesn't quite work for me, mostly around the deflector area. I'd want to give it more of a Galaxy Class type deflector. Splendors' nacelles would probably work well on it.

Great work on this design. I would love to see more of Bernd Schneider's excellent designs brought to life like this.

I've done his Asia and it is tempting to do more of his designs. They are very good and are rather unique among the trek design world.

Nice design and it looks definitely more like Trek, than the Akira class imo.

Yeah, she has quite unique look among the ships of her era. She has a clear Starfleet design but doesn't look flimsy or too unconventional, she fits in very well.

Thank you, I wanted it to look almost like a progenitor design for the Norway, Steamrunner etc run of ships so I added some of those features onto it but made them more TLE style.
