It's purely conceptual.As young Asgore and Toriel get kissy and swear to never split no matter what, below lurks the pure horror that will raise from their love.
I was inspired by the opening scene of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 when Ego and Meredith kiss with Ego's pretty-but-actually-deadly alien plant beneath them, and this illustration of the DC Comics villain Floronic Man:Β batman.wikia.com/wiki/File:472β¦

Deliciously disgusting. Asriel's distressed expression is what makes the piece for me... And also all the roots around and inside him.
Their love brought Asriel into the world... How he wishes he was never born. It is very sad that the beauty of love would be twisted and turned into whatever hellish abomination Asriel is now.
And the ironic part is that he also destroyed their love... And probably killed them both dozens of times.
But the fact that Asriel can never be saved is an amazing thing in my opinion. It shows that whatever you do, you can never get everything you want.
Asriel coming back from the dead hardly makes sense. For it to happen you should twist the universe and it's rules, and Undertale clearly tells you not to meddle with them for your own desires.
Of course, it can be an interesting concept... But would the goD approve?

This is so dark, brutal, and depressing. This is not everyone's cup of tea, so to speak. But I like it only because of how creepy this is, and Halloween is coming soon, and I was going to look at some creepy art anyways.Β
