When I was a kid I was never scared of witches, and the Befana was probably one of the main reasons.
The ONLY time I was freaked out is if I saw a creepy-ass dummy of her. I remember in elementary school having a text book with a picture of a particularly grotesque looking Befana dummy that was very angular, I haven't found it online so I tried by best to reproduce her here lol
So whenever I heard stories about evil witches, the only way I could be creeped out is if I imagined them looking like that.
