Description
Chapter 3Relatives
In the reaver stables near the palace, gnarl lowered his mount to the ground. As he landed, gorm slide down the right side of the reaver and slowly made his way to the door. Gorm stopped at the door and turned. He watched as gnarl placed a metal like collar and led it in its bin, pulling on the cable which connected to the collar. gnarl led it till it was fully in it space, the reaver made a low thump as it laid it soft under belly on the cool, stone floor. Gnarl stepped out of its bin and closed the gate. Gnarl patted the gate and turned to place his riding equipment in a storage area. Gorm had enough and left the stables. He made his way to a barge station that connected to the palace. Gorm entered one of the nearby barges and began to start up the machine. Gorm places the coordinates to the palace, pressing buttons and turning dials. Gorm finished everything and began to do the most frustrating event in his life. Wait for gnarl to finish his chore. After an event of long and tedious wait in his life, he see's gnarl heading towards the barge. Gorm stretched his muscles and cracked multiple of joints. Giving a small yawn, he opens the barge's gate and stood next to the entrance inside.
"You, my friend, move as slow as a rock worm in slumber season." Gorm mocked
"And you, brother, are as impatient as a brumak, dying of hunger." Gnarl retorted
Gorm chuckled at gnarls comeback and moved towards the controls. Gnarl entered the barge and shut the gate closed. Gnarl walked towards gorm while he pressed a few buttons and then grip the main lever.
"Beginning ascend" gorm stated
Gorm pulled the lever and the barge came to life. It slowly pulled itself on the iron cable, moving in a slow pace. As it pulled itself out of the station, underneath barge left the ground and the barge swerved from side to side till it came stable. Gnarl sighed in relief that the barge has not drop to the doom, it was the three feeling they felt themselves falling to the vile imulsion underneath them. Gnarl gazed out and admire the locust city in front of them, watching many of the lights flowing though the city as if it were alive.
"It has been long since we have seen this city, has it not?" gnarl asked
"It has." Gorm said, still focusing of the barge
As the cart moved closer to the city, they entered a narrow path between buildings, visible to all that walk though the buildings. As they moved further into the city, it was not long till they were notice by many of their brothers that patrolled the city buildings. One locust walked though a building right next to them and took one look to his right. Seeing the barge, he saw both gnarl and gorm riding on it. The locust was a youngling because he dropped his hammerburst and began to stutter words as well as shaking with excitement and nervousness. Other proud warriors would salute in their honor or bow to them, but this one as amusing.
"G-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g-g--"was all he could say as he watched them pass further ahead of him
Gorm chuckled to himself and raised his hand up and said
"I believe the words are "gorm is more superior then gnarl in every aspect."" he joked
He gained a punch to the arm by gnarl and gave him a sour glare. It did not ruin gorm's mood, matter-a-fact, gorm began to laugh his head off at his comrade. As the moved further up, the lone locust stood dumbfound till he fainted from shock. Gorm and gnarl heard a thud and looked back. It took all their will power just not to laugh at the youngling.
"By the worms, are the younglings becoming feared to their great hero's" gnarl laughed
"I would not blame him," gorm defended "I would be in the same predicament if I two met I myself."
As they slowly made their way towards the end of the city, gnarl sighed in content of their ride. Gorm heard gnarls sigh and turned his head. He saw gnarl crossing his arm and raised his chin up in honor, but surprised him the most was the most shocking to gorm. Gnarl, the great warrior of bloodshed. Gnarl, the first honor guard of the queen. Gnarl, the destroyer of humans, was…smiling. It was far too long since gorm has seen gnarl smile, it was to believe that he never smile since he first became an honor guard. Gorm grinned and chuckled a bit.
"Gnarl, are you smiling?" he asked
As soon gorm spoke, gnarl jumped and wiped his face as if to remove his smile. Gnarl then placed a frown on his face and glared at gorm.
"Don't be foolish, why would I smile?" gnarl denied
Gorm rolled his eyes and laughed at gnarl under his breath. It was rare to see the two in hostile and cooperative moods. Gnarl shook his head and continued to look towards the palace, as it grew closer towards them. Gnarl began to be board as it felt like ages past as they move closer, so gnarl thought of an idea to pass the time.
"Gorm?" gnarl started
"Hmm" gorm answered
"I have told you of my time within the palace, now it's time you tell me you time on the surface." Gnarl told
"Took you a while to ask that question, gnarl?" gorm mocked
Gnarl scuffed and turned his head to left side of the barge. Gorm chuckled under his breath and sighed
"The surface has been kind to me so far, brother." gorm told
Gnarl turned his head again to look at gorm, well, look a bit down since he was taller then gorm.
"Oh?" gnarl asked
"The surface is the same as we first set our eyes upon the world, excepted it wasn't as badly scared with flames and blood." Gorm continued
"I see." Gnarl said
Gorm looks to his side to find a swarm of reavers flying though the air. Some of them flow close to them and zoomed past them. Gorm sighed in relaxation that of watching his world in it's beauty.
" Since the pass 36 sunrise's and 37 nightfall's, I have captured many of the vermin's strongholds, ready for any possible dangers." Gorm said, clenching his fist in triumph.
Gnarl thought of his comrade's story and grew jealous. Gorm success and battle information, all of which involved his time on the surface. His life was better then his. Without noticing, the barge made a hard stop, making gorm and gnarl stumbled forward then fell on the floor. Both hit the ground hard making a thump noise as the landed on the cold metal ground. Gorm slowly climbed on all fours and shook his head. He looked up to find they have made it to the palace. How did they get there so quickly?
"I believe we are here." gnarl stated
Gorm turned his head giving off a glare towards gnarl, but when he looked at gnarl he could not hold back and start to laugh. Gnarl was up side down, his back on the side of the barge with his legs dangling above him. Gorm stood up and walked toward the barges gate and opened it. He looked at gnarl and shook his head in disbelief.
"Come, the queen is waiting for us." gorm told
Gnarl flipped himself and stood up in a quick movement. Gnarl looked upon his armor and began to fix many of his plates.
"The queen is only want to speak with you, not Me." gnarl corrected
"I know that gnarl, but it is good to have an old friend walk with me." Gorm said
Gnarl gave a sigh of defeat and nodded in agreement, gorm knows how to make gnarl change his mind and wins.
"Also," gorm continued, "what else would you do other then have a walk."
Gorm left the barge and started to head to the nearest lift to the top of the palace, gnarl followed suite and made a jog to the lift.
"What other event's happened upon the surface?" Gnarl asked
Gorm pulled the lever and the lift rose up moving, a slow pace up to the top floor. Gorm thought about his time on the surface, thinking of which one to chose. He sucked in as much breath as possible and sigh.
"I fear I have nothing else to added." gorm said
"Huh?" gnarl questioned, "Gorm, the king of pain. Gorm, lord of death. Gorm, the demon of human's dreams. Has no other stories to tell?" gnarl mocked
Gorm shook his head in displeasing thought; it wasn't that there were no stories to tell. Only there was one reason to explain. Gorm sighed an looked at his friends smug little grin, oh how hate to see him mocking gorm, so there was one way to silence him.
"It is not that I have no other stories of the surface, it is that the humans have not fought with my army for some time now." Gorm explained
This caused gnarl to lose his grin and give off a confused look. Gorm was stratified with that look; much betters then his damn grin. But now it became harder to have a conversation between them.
"Have not fought?" gnarl asked " as in "in hiding"."
Gorm sighed in discomfort. He hated to explain the human's plan, which he has no information of, work or formulate in their strategy. After a moment of silence, the lift made it stop at the top and the gate open to allow the duo to exit. Gorm exit first then gnarl followed. They enter a doorway, which lead to a hallway nearest to the set of stairs. Gorm climbs up first, he stopped half way when he heard gnarl finally spoke.
"You have not answered my question, gorm"
Gorm held his footing on a step and turn around, gorm say that he has be thinking of his response about the humans. Gorm knew he would end up telling him one part of why, yet he should kept his mouth shut.
"Gnarl, I have not been in combat for at least those days I been on the surface, it is as if the humans have been gone, either hiding from us or their planning." gorm finished
"Planning? Planning for what?" gnarl questioned, "They are on the run by our brothers, hiding in the rubble of their world, yet you believe they are planning?"
Gorm thought over what gnarl stated, maybe gnarl was right? Perhaps the humans are just hiding in fear.
"I believe you are right, gnarl" gorm accepted
"Of course, brother, I am always right!" gnarl told proudly
Gorm shook his head and continues to climb up the steps with gnarl following in his trail. At the top of the stairs, they were greeted by yet another hallway, which headed straight towards the throne room. Gorm and gnarl groan, it was a thousand step strides to the throne. Gorm and gnarl gathered up their strength and continued to walk. As they walk gnarl began to start up a new conversation.
"Have you seen a human up close?" gnarl asked
Gorm chuckled at gnarls question. He turned his head and removed his helmet then pointed to a scar on his right eye.
"Oh, far too close, brother." gorm said
Gnarl gasped in horror as he look at gorm's scar, how could gorm keep a rather large scar underneath his helmet.
"By the worms, a human caused you that scar?" gnarl asked
Gorm nodded and said "it was a tough opponent indeed, but I have made my point to him that I'm no mere warrior."
"You killed him?" gnarl asked egger to know what gorm did to the human.
"No," gorm spoke, "I have marked him for death if I ever come across him again."
"Ha ha, brought shame to him and his kind, well done gorm." Gnarl congratulated gorm
Gorm bowed in his pride gnarl had given him. They stopped half-way in the hall when he was asked by another question from gnarl.
"What did the human look like?" gnarl asked
Gorm thought about it for a moment, thinking over at the human's features, its skin, its color. It was so long he has forgotten what he has looked like but he only he thinks about its blue armor and helmet.
"Forgive me, brother. I have forgotten." Gorm apologized
Gnarl made a low growl and kicked some dust of the ground in disappointment
"Come, brother, there must be some details." Gnarl begged
Gorm only shook his head in dismay. Gnarl shook his head then gave a pat on gorm's shoulder and said.
"Never mind, gorm, perhaps they all look the same as the rest of our relatives." Gnarl cheered gorm up
Gorm nodded and gave a smile to his comrade. Gorm's always trusted gnarls judgment in all of their problems, then in the back of gorm's head. Something he had forgotten the moment he had entered his home. He turned to gnarl and gave him a questioned look.
"Speaking of relatives, where is-" gorm said before being interrupted by gnarls shush.
"Quiet, I heard something." Gnarl cautioned
Both gorm and gnarl became silent and turn their head to the end of the hall behind them. They began to hear soft tapping noises, as they viewed a small figure running towards them. Gorm and gnarl leaned closer to see who or what it was. The figure started to get bigger and closer. As the figure came closer and closer, gorm eyes grew wide causing him to drop his helmet.
"Oh, no." gorm said
The figure sprinted towards the two and then jumped in the air screaming.
"GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMMMMMM!" it shouted in glee.
The figure made a dive and tackled gorm by the waist, causing him to make an "oof" sound as he fell to the floor. Gnarl watched his brother fall and burst out in laughter. Gorm slowly regains his strength and leaned forward, putting his weight on his elbows and looked down at the tackler. He knew exactly who it was because it was a she. She had basic locust armor with some color on the shoulder pads. They were painted with pink on the left and blue on the right. She wore a locust helmet with a pick strip on the middle of the helmet. The female locust looked up at gorm and gave him the most adorable smile in all of nexus.
"I have missed you so much brother." She cheered
Gorm smiled and patted her on the head. By patting her head, she nuzzled closer to gorm and made a loving, purring sound emanating from her. They have been together since birth. They were born out of the same berserker and never left each other side, well only if gorm had to go to the surface and fight in the war.
"Has it been a month already, tallix?" he asked
Tallix looked up with a big smile. She had the most beautiful, little green eyes, adding a tooth sticking out of the right corner of her smile.
"Two months, actually!" Tallix corrected
She then resumed hugging gorm and tightening it so she would not let go of him.
"But I don't care, your home and with me once again." she cheered
Gorm sat there for a few moments of silence. Soon after, he returns the embrace and hug tallix with an even tighter one.
"Forgive me if you felt lonesome while I have been away." Gorm apologized
They sat there for four whole minutes, hugging each other. Gorm was the first to break the hug and slowly stood up, while still holding tallix in his arms. As he steadied his footing, he held out tallix to have a good look at his sister. She had change the last time he has seen her in two months. He did notice one particular leather strip colored pink from top to bottom. How funny, he always loved how his sister would express herself than any other locust in their home. It was strange, but it was normal for the two siblings. Then a question suddenly popped in his head, thinking how his sister found him.
"How did you find me, tallix?" gorm asked
Tallix looked up at gorm and gave him a smile to him.
"I was on my way to visit toma back down to the city when I saw you and gnarl riding the barge up." She answered
Gorm shook his head and looked at gnarl in a mocking feature.
"I thought you of all warriors to be the stealthiest of all, yet you were noticed by my sister." He laughed
Gnarl gave him a stern look before changing it to a friendly smile.
"I believe my time in the palace has made my skill a bit... blunt." He said
Gorm and tallix snickered at gnarl's answer, causing him to be embarrassed and angered.
"What is so amusing!?!?"Gnarl growled
Gorm and tallix looks up at gnarl with their grins and spoke in unisons
"You smiled."
Gnarl felt even more embarrassed as he again tried to wipe his face to be rid of the infernal smile.
"By the worms, you two are a plague towards my features!" he cursed
Gorm and tallix laughed harder as gnarl became more foolish. Then in a blink of an eye, tallix remembered something that she was supposed to do.
"That reminds me," tallix said urgently, "I must show you what I found while you were on the surface!"
Gorm looked down at her with an interested look and smiled.
"I would love to see-"he said before being interrupted by gnarl
"But he must see the queen first!"Gnarl finished his sentence
Gorm slowly looked up at gnarl with the coldest glare that he can muster towards gnarl, but gnarl was unfazed by the look he was receiving.
"Forgive me, but there's no time for that tallix," Gnarl spoke coolly, "for gorm must see the queen immediately."
Tallix gave a confused look to gnarl for a moment before looking at gorm with the same expression.
"Why are you needed to the queen so urgently?" tallix asked
Gorm was about to explain until gnarl interrupted yet again. This time, sounding annoyed.
"Tallix, we don't need t-"gnarl said before being counter acted by gorm
"I am receiving an honorable quest from her immediately."
Gnarl stood there irritated and angered at gorm's lack of restraint of information, but since they are the hollows greatest heroes as well his former comrade in battle. He scoffed and turned his head so it would not be notice by the two siblings. Gorm, on the other hand, did not give yet another glare but gave a smile to tallix.
"Tallix let me promise you this, after my time with the queen. I will see what you for me." Gorm promised
Tallix took a moment to think about gorm's proposal, it was not every day the two would spend time with each other, so she nodded her head vigorously.
"Okay brother, I'll wait for you outside of the throne room door," She said in a glee full tone, "don't be long now, brother."
Gorm smiled and places a hand on top of her head and gently rubs it.
"I promise it won't take long, sister." Gorm informed (author's notes: ha that rhymed)
Gorm then turns and started to head to the throne room, but he stopped in front of the door and turns his head to the side and said.
"Gnarl, you service's are no longer required to escort me to the palace. You are free to do whatever you wish."
Gnarl just stood there for a moment to process what gorm had just said. Did gorm really say he was done his duty and now was to just go away? Gnarl was about to protest about gorm's request, but then remembered how he acted toward gorm's sibling. He was quiet rude to her in the process but it was for important business and he was only requested to bring gorm only, not his sister. Gnarl calmed himself and bowed to him.
"As you wish, brother." He complied
Gnarl then turn to the opposite end of the hall way and walked down it till he was not seen by gorm or tallix. Tallix was confused the whole time on why gnarl was acting like a sour, young locust. She was about to asked gorm until she saw him enter the throne. Tallix, in the hallway of the palace, was alone with no one with her. She walked to the door and sat on the right side of the door and waited patiently for gorm to come out of the room.
"*sigh* I hope gorm would love what I will show him back at our home." She wondered, having a small smile on her face before closing her eyes and fell into slumber.

Bit of hero banter then, eh?
Gorm stops at the door and turned
Should either be Gorm stopped at the door and turned or Gorm stops at the door and turns around.
"Have you seen a up close?" gnarl asked
Probably missed out the word "human" there, so he says "Have you seen a human up close?" (All those humans look the same to me! )
"I thought you of warriors to be the stealthiest of all, yet you were notice by my sister." He laughed
Needs an "all" for "I thought you of all warriors", also, "notice" should be "noticed"
Gnarl felt even more embarrass as he again tried to wipe his face to be rid of the infernal smile.
Embarrassed
"By the worm's, you two are a plague towards my features!" he cursed
Should be Worms, since he's referring to more than one.
Anyway, to answer you: Yes, I do want to see Chapter 4! Don't hold out on us!
