Indeed, and I have to bow to Jeffery Combs; his voice acting--especially when Ratchet was screaming at Optimus--was Oscar worthy, in my opinion.
Though I can't help but wonder... Alcohol and other drugs are dangerous because they remove our inhibitions. I can't help but wonder if Ratchet actually harbored those feelings, but never expressed them out of respect for Optimus.

Jeffery Combs is the perfect Ratchet! I think the prime voice cast is the best one yet. Didn't really care for the TFA voices, too stereotypical and exaggerated.
Perhaps there is a young stud in Ratchet, that only comes out when he is high or when Optimus aint looking XD

I've never seen TFA; the art style just didn't do it for me. It reminds me of Dexter's Laboratory. They don't look machine enough and as such I can't take the show seriously.

OMG I love the fact that they got both Welker and Cullen, it's so strange watching G1 from the eighties and prime and the voices are nearly exactly the same, though a bit darker.
Have you ever heard Optimus' voice in TFA? It's a crime against the character! You should watch an episode just to facepalm.
The TFA style is a bit weird, but I'm less keen on watching beast machines, I prefer cars over animals XD

Sorry for the delayed response; I was out of town until yesterday.
And that's the beauty of Prime; the maturity behind it. It's one of the main reasons that drew me into it in the first place--Ratchet being the other, lol.
The way they drew Optimus in TFA...I'm almost imaging some sort of southern truck driver, lol. I'll have to watch an episode to see if my hypothesis is correct. If it is...*sigh* Poor Optimus.
I will probably never watch Beast Machines. The whole animal-cyborg-transformer thing....no, just no. It's wrong on so many levels.

I love the maturity of TFP too. Though I wish it was a bit more mature, I just hope that one day they'll take it one step futher make an "adult swim" version of it that would be AMAZING!

That would be interesting, though I fear that if they had that kind of power, you'd just wind up with a Bay-esque series, ripe with off-color humor, fart jokes, and inappropriately placed wrecking balls...
I finally got around to watching the first few episodes of TFA. OMG, you're absolutely right; Optimus is just...awful. His voice is very much a crime against all Optimus incarnations. And speaking of crimes, why, why, WHY would they make him a young, inexperienced 'Bot? He's always been and awesome leader; maybe not the brightest (i.e. G1), but still secure in his goals.
All of the other characters...grrrrr. Though TFA Ratchet has given me some interesting comic ideas. X3

The biggest mistake bay did with the movies was making them child friendly, dunno how many times I facepalmed because of all the silliness. That and the excess fast-pace action scenes they were all blurry, what a waste of fine 3d. And my favourite character didn't even have a face
I know, that was totally what annoyed me as well. I hate it when they make the main character sound like a Ken-doll. And Bumblebee's voice is soooooooooo annoying! So is Bulkhead's voice, dunno why they keep including him in the shows, nobody likes Bulkhead.
