Ha ha... Cool poster... but wasn't in Gorgo's mom that raised all the hell?

Ask Carpenter again, please. Tell him we would love to see this monster match and his fans would love to see some of his amateur efforts...Would be so nice for all to see this example of growth from primitive work to professional accomplishment! Shows life's possibilties! Share, John!!!

Only problem I see is that Gorgo's tail looks too small...but it's been forever since I've seen the movie. It could be exactly right for all I know.
Fantastic!

I think Godzilla is more likely to mate with her as she is female.

Gorgozilla would be the result of that.

But didn't Gorgo turn out to be just a lost child?

I know tghe Big G is more popular in current culture, but Mother Gorgo is simply too big for Godzilla. Before they even see her, the professors describe her as being "200' tall ...at the very least" -no upper limit is mentioned! Her height does vary from scene to scene, but she goes from colossal to absolutely gargantuan!
She rivals Big Ben in height, which is 316 feet. In the final scenes, she places her foot in the circus ring and the baby is literally up to her ankle, making her at least 500' tall. The baby then (temporarily) seems somwhat larger in the sideview as they walk back to the sea, and then he is up to her ankle yet again in the final shot of both creatures from the rear. This brief size discrepancy during the sideview is probably due to the limited special effects possible in the 60's. But clearly, the director's intention is that the baby is up to the mother's ankle. Also, if Godzilla has grown since the 60's, imagine how tall Mama Gorgo must be by now! Reptiles never cease growing!

In the movie mother Gorgo isn't taller than the Big Ben & the 1970s Showa Godzilla fought monsters which are around her height of 200ft tall(e.g. Hedorah, Titanosaurus & Gigan) while the Heisei & Final wars versions of Godzilla are bigger than the height of 200ft while the rest of the Godzilla versions are nearly as big as 200ft!!!!

Biollante was way bigger then Godzilla and had the same healing factor as him yet he still beat her, sure he was wounded badly but the point is size don't matter to Godzilla. Also in Final Wars he was slamming Keizer Ghidorah around and threw him into the air and Keizer was also bigger then Godzilla. Sure Gorgo could probably beat some earlier Godzilla incarnations but against Final Wars Godzilla she has no chance against him.

You should do a Godzilla vs. Jirass picture. I bet that'll cause some confusion. Lol.

That's actually a great idea, and despite the obvious reference, I don't think anyone has done that at Gfest before.

Glad you like the suggestion...now if only I could think of a flying Euro-kaiju to match Rodan.

Once again, the detail on display here blows me away. I especially dig (a) Gorgo's nifty scute-rows and (b) the buildings...for some reason, their shape & window density adds some much-needed scale to this kaiju-clash. Those clouds o' dust make for excellent background filler as well.
Random idea for another East v. West title bout: Manda vs. Reptilicus. Pretty much guaranteed to end in a knotty stalemate, methinks.

My god! that's brilliant. what a good, similar pair to rough each other up. Ok, time and current lifestyle permitting, I would like to do that... perhaps it will show up at g-fest for next year. snake puppets. i love it. thanks for the comment, too. I was afraid people weren't receptive to the style. I'm trying my hand at some more comic book-ish stuff, because honestly, that seems to sell well.

Now this would be a REAL FIGHT! London's only kaiju vs Japan's finest! I'd place my money on Big G though, just cause Gorgo has nothing really going for him other than standard kaiju powers like size, strength, and endurance.

Dude, I think everyone's putting money on Godzilla. Either way, it'd still be a fight to see and because both critters are practically indescructible, they'd probably turn their attention on another source like the military or something.

maybe eventually. it was kinda used as concept sketches/coloring pages for kids. I've got a lot of upcoming ideas for Godzilla and cohorts which may come first, so i'm still up in the air on that.
