I'm surprised you don't regularly put airsoft internals on these things XD
It'd look boss at a match, though

Does it shoot?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

KingMakerCustoms In reply to safarimanpwns [2013-01-10 02:26:11 +0000 UTC]

Yup, shoots as well as it ever did. It's a film prop so no fancy internal mods or anything. You need to slide the barrel extension over the tip of the dart before every shot to fully chamber it, but that adds... what, quarter of a second. Otherwise, entirely functional with no paint chipping to speak of.

Is the scope actually magnified ?

KingMakerCustoms In reply to safarimanpwns [2013-01-10 23:37:21 +0000 UTC]

Nope... it's covered with clear plastic, though. It's just a prop, so I didn't really see any point in using money on mag lenses.

Not yet, though I'd like to. I just got a hot knife and some decal paper from Amazon and I can't wait to try out new methods with both.

Well, I mean, I'm not gonna try them on THIS. This is finished. Not gonna overwork it. But keep an eye out for future pieces... they're all coming.

it honestly think its a bit of a shame its TOO brassy, maybe some dark brown wood accents or some pure golds would help to bring out all the love you've put into it :S
I checked it out earlier today with your first WIP of it and,and i have to really congratulate you.Its great the use of trash materials you got into this and it really works as a whole

Thanks for the comments. I like it brassy, m'self, looks more industrial to me and that's a style I tend to like, plus the photo bleeds out a little of the contrast despite my attempts to rebalance it, but I understand fully where you're coming from. On the other hand, I had a little bit of a budget to work on. I've done wood handles before and certainly could have done it on this, but that would have been an extra 20-30 USD. Plus this was part of a matching set, so then the other would would have needed wood on it as well. Suddenly that's an extra 50 USD the client didn't want to spend.

well you can just paint it on actually, its what i would've done
But i can understand,im starting my own prop work and hoping to sell my works,so a clients demand is more important than personal taste

To be clear: I like it shiny. I ust would have also liked it woody.
