Description Was originally trying to create an Alaskan tundra scene then I thought I would give it a shot inverted. The name comes from the terrain turning out to resemble a fault line like we have so many of here in California.
I'm a bit dis-satisfied with the clouds...

I forget what I did. I fiddled with it too long to remember exactly what I ended up doing but it did involve at least Shadow/Highlight, Photofilter

low POVs r good in tg renders (especially the free version which only does tiny terrains), but not too low, cuz the ground's got no detail. that's a mistake so many ppl make. the ground looks pretty good but not real enough for close-ups. some nice features lined up for v2 tho ...
nice terrain, well distributed. the haze could b more on the brown side though, to reflect the dust colour. you probably know this, but generally, visible haze is caused by dust which rises off the ground. i usually use the dominant dust colour for haze, it brings everything together nice & realistic. tone it down a little to simulate the blue atmosphere colour reflecting off particles.
& tg's clouds do seem a little limited (read jagged), but i like your shadow contrast here.

That is a very nice surface map. Hell thats better then i can do lol.

The POV isnt the most interesting POV, and the clouds do need some work. But that surface map is just very nice. With the clouds, at least till you have a bit better control on some of the settings, i would recommend staying with the 2d clouds for now. They can produce great results, and you dont have to worry about the layerd look which is what you got going on now.

Great surface map again

I tend to agree with everything you just said. Except for the surfacemap being better than yours part lol. Thank you
With regards to the POV, I think after some thought if I move it a couple hundred to the right, and then lower it enough to just obscure the top left mound, but keeping a view down the channel. I'll have to experiment more with this one.

The clouds are a little blocky, but I love the surface map, real nice.

Thank you very much. That's just the TG procedural textures, no overlays or custom distributions. Clouds are hit and miss with me for some reason...
