Description The Scott Monument, in the centre of Edinburgh.

Background:
Built in 1846, this commemorates Sir Walter Scott, an at-the-time-much-loved author of the early 19th century. He was a pioneer of the historical novel, and his works included Ivanhoe, which later became a TV series starring Roger Moore. Roger Moore does not yet have a similar monument.

That is a glorious shot, what a fantastic piece of architecture. It comes acros really dark and brooding, menacing in a way, totally gothic, sublime. Yes, I do like this
