Description
yeah so my second attempt at 3d rendering. unless you count the 50 renders I did of this to get it more rightI spent a good deal of time yelling at my computer trying to get the object and bone structure to work together. I would like to make a more realistic stick like body though I want to keep it skinny

I don't know much about 3d rendering or what sort of style you were aiming for here. I'd suggest checking out some tutorials on the process.
The concept is interesting but I'm unsure about the styling and I don't think the color choices work very well. There's is just so much empty black space.

well the black space was part of idea, I wanted a open space to concentrate on the objects... the style i was going for was more a lifelike stick figure... if you looked at the artist gallery I linked you would see...
thanks for the comment though!

I suppose I do not see much of a connection between this piece and the majority of the work in the deviant's gallery.
I think you could use the space more to your advantage if you were trying to draw attention to the figures. You have the right idea with the spot of light.
Maybe make the space larger still and use lines slanting toward the figures instead of the straight line you have for the horizon now?
You might also try using a gradation of shades instead of the relatively solid colors you currently have.
To me, the black draws attention away from the figures because the figures are also black. The standing figure kind of blends into the background, especially the head.

the scene is also entirely lit with the light from the head and blood...

I picked up on that but I think, compositionally, it does not work well here. Maybe there is a way for you to make a secondary light source or have the lit-up head be more obvious.
