Description
"A strange beast once encountered by the legendary Yellow Emperor atop Mount Dongwang. It gave the emperor the name and description of 11,520 supernatural creatures from around the world, and how to appease or exorcise them. The emperor had this information recorded in a great book called the Bai Ze Tu, which mysteriously vanished long ago, possibly when Qin Shi Huang, first emperor of a unified China, had nearly all books burned so that no wisdom of old could contradict his rule."JoeRB
I portrayed the bestiary as a floating magical scroll with a spirit of Long manifesting via it.

This is really good!
Also, as to who the Yellow Emperor is, has always confused me, there are just so many different stories and myths about the Yellow Emperor (some of them contradictory, he even has several names and titles spanning across great periods of time)... Not to mention some stories portray him as a hero, and other portray him as a evil warlord trying to conquer all of China, or the world... This is sort of understandable though, as he is one of the older figures in Chinese folklore.

I think Chinese Mythology is just like that in itself, many variants of each concept.

What cunning muzzle at this ox. He is obvious, something plansΒ
P.S.:Β By the way, he isn't a ox evangelist descendant from the Apocalypse, only that had even more eye and it is possible also wings.

This bestiary is like...an international "Lesser Key of Solomon", describing supernatural beings and how to intereact with them ? Interesting ! And this Yellow Emperor is Huang Di, I guess ?

Possibly but I've met with many variants of names in those Chinese myths. They are certainly far from being as uniform as more well known Greek mythology.

Thank you again and again, KOR. And thank you some more!
I love how ancient and wise and solemn he looks. And despite his grotesque, mutated appearance, he looks absolutely mystical. This looks exactly like a beast who would grant ancient knowledge and wisdom to a worthy emperor.
