Its like with JP raptors. you realise they are not the same thing as actual fossil animals but their identity as such has become part of culture anyway.

I like the more mysterious side to him, just seeing the cloak, the shadowed face, and the tentacles, as it proves the main characters insanity is debatable.

Nice color contrast, and my favorite detail is the sickly paleness of the face and the tentacles. It's like a corpse or a clammy sea creature in there.

I really wish the entire King in Yellow book were dedicated to, well, the King in Yellow, not just four stories out of ten or so. X/

You're probably right. Maybe Chambers intended to write more stories, but wasn't sure what to do with the King in Yellow, so he decided to leave the number at four good stories rather than a bunch of extra phoned-in stories.

I always liked the idea of Hastur and the Yellow Sign and Carcosa in the Cthulhu Mythos, though August Derleth did some lame things with the ideas. XP I think I'm going to listen to an audio of "The Return of Hastur" and see how much I can get through it. Derleth's stories, what few I've read, typically bored me.
