Description
I do not consider it a remake, nor a superior version to my last one, unlike in the case of many redraws. I just felt like doing this dude once more, after all, he's so snaky."For as he watched, Tu's face became strangely dim and unreal; the features mingled and merged in a seemingly impossible manner, Then, like a fading mask of fog, the face suddenly vanished and in its stead gaped and leered a monstrous serpent's head!"
Robert E. Howard, The Shadow Kingdom
"(...) and he came anon to the spacious caverns in which the serpent-men were busying themselves with a multitude of tasks. They walked lithely and sinuously erect on pre-mammalian members, their pied and hairless bodies bending with great suppleness. There was a loud and constant hissing of formulae as they went to and fro."
Clark Ashton Smith, The Seven Geases

I have the Shadow Kingdom in a Lancer paperback (Howard wrote few King Kull stories, as publishers were not interested in the character. He moved on to write Conan which was a runaway success.). The book is NOT in good shape, being a Lancer, and is OutOfPrint.
My list of spells has "TripleShield" which can ward off serpentmen. I was going over my old fan-fics and trying to find all the spells used, named or at least hinted at.

I have two sets of Conan and other ReH books. One is pure REH stuff. The other is 'expanded universe' with additions by other authors. I still have plenty of stuff to buy and read from the second series, which I usually do at the Summer. Somehow these long sunsets and warm evenings create the best atmosphere for these kind of stories (just as I usually prefer Lovecraftian horror on cold winter nights)

The Serpent Men are involved, indirectly, in the mythos tale THE DOUBLE SHADOW by Klarkash-Ton.

Yup, but their involvement was minimal. Still, a creation shared by all three classics.

I finally got around to reading the seven geases. I liked it, it reminded me of a cross between the Jabberwocky and an Edgar Rice Burroughs story, with a dash of lovecraftian hopelessness.
