Description
www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2j_v7…vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/d…
Oriental aquatic monster; Based on mythology and on early and outdated reconstuction of Therizionosaurus ( vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/d… ) which used to portrayed as a giant turtle-like reptile.
The monster is guardian of underwater treasure hoards; I picture it as being able to spit streams of hot vapor in defense. It is also based on snapping turtle, meaning it has a nasty bite. Probably it could rip humans to pieces withou effort. Like this: i.imgur.com/0ssbuQh.gif
Warning: This gif is fucking brutal. If unlike me you are a sensitive person don't open it.

I wasn't aware of those... Found it from mythology.

Oh. The Dracopedia books were a series of art books on dragons and other mythical reptiles from around the world. The D&D Monster Manual also had one.

THAT was terrible. The guy who filmed that should have been prosecuted. I've seen it on YouTube before...
Just because the animal is a mouse....

It was cruelty to a living conscious thing, handed to the eatet just to make a film. That mouse was trying to swm away, even after it was cut in half !
Same for crush or stomp videos,(those ARE prosecuted.)

I think the purpose was to feed the turtle and the video was just taken of it. Many predatory animals kept as pets are given living prey. I used to have several snakes, lizards crabs and scorpions. Unfortunately as time passed the all died so now I only have some of their bones, skulls and bodies preserved in alcohol. Still, when I'm done with my studies I plan to return to such exotic pets.

I was in a pet shop run by a friend. I have even financed the store.
He fed excess mice & rats to iguanas & snakes, and I didn't expect the reptiles to grab and swallow the rodents right away. Several were clobbered and swallowed before they knew what was happening. One rat, grievously wounded, groomed itself.

Never had an iguana but I'd love to some day. My lizards were small and only ate insects.

I had -and may still have -fragments of stillborn storylines, when I still cartooned *. In one, a front cover about a deep subterranean race of humanoids, a turtle-dog,one of a pair, Tushk and Tuskh, but that's all about these.
* I stopped cartooning 20 years ago, save for a few "Director's Cut" inserts. Same for my text fan-fiction, about a year or so ago, save for a few "Director's Cut" inserts.
I'm old.

Look at my gallery and note that my style just does not reflect my vision. Also I received ridicule from the very people I felt were fans. Some abuse can be found in the comments I got. I also kept making mistakes in consistency & continuity.
Art skills just do not run in my family.

Read about this creature in a book once (the actual mythical creature, not an outdated therizonosaur turtle book), and i truly think this creature is underrated

:-D Cool design, looks like a monster from Yu-gi-oh!. :-D I drew my own years ago (many-many years ago...), the base was the megabrutal snapping turtle too! But in this situation, I gave it hidden mortars and cannons coming out its shell. The deck itself was a gift for my younger brother.

Unfortunately I can't remember its name, only the picture popped into my mind. And Google aren't my friend this time. :/ However, they have some Lovecraft-inspired card such as Azzathoth... but I mentioned that before, I think.
