Oriental aquatic monster; Based on mythology and on early and outdated reconstuction of Therizionosaurus ( vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/d… ) which used to portrayed as a giant turtle-like reptile.
The monster is guardian of underwater treasure hoards; I picture it as being able to spit streams of hot vapor in defense. It is also based on snapping turtle, meaning it has a nasty bite. Probably it could rip humans to pieces withou effort. Like this: i.imgur.com/0ssbuQh.gif

It's super campy but fun to watch. Gamera has a variety of Kaiju monster enemies that might interest you. I like how Gamera is a good monster that loves all children but takes out enemies in a brutally dickish way.
