Description
A Slavic mythical monster largely popularized due to Witcher series. My dream version was much more bizarre than an aquatic zombie. While majority of the body resembled a distorted, eyeless child one of his arms was hypertrophic and asymmetrical, much like fiddler crab's pincers. The large arm was held upwards, resembling submerged tree branches or roots in the muddy water... until the prey gets too close!Related content

Don't you mean a Topielec (plural Topielce), Vodník or Utopiec?

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to tcr11050 [2019-09-07 09:35:07 +0000 UTC]
Drowner is a literal translation of Utopiec (From "Utopić", to drown somebody).
Vodnik was a different creature, more of a "genius loci", while a drowner was specifically a revenant of a dead man. The two have also been mixed together in some cases as there is no "canon" folklore
Topielec, on the other hand, is not really the name of a mythical creature. True, it was used to describe this type of monster, but it simply means drowned man. The term is used even today in the context of forensic science etc.
There was also a multitude of local names for them.

Well, they mostly were useful as something exactly opposite, so it would be quite hilarious to see one as a lifeguard.
