That's more realistic though I like it. Why didn't I think of that earlier? Oh, right. Because I'm not you XD

Very nice one ! Since the atrocious Nuckelavee and other Dullahans are sometimes considered fairies, I guess the term applies to any britannic folkloric creatures who aren't dragons

Awesome faerie design! Looks really michievous and I love the skinny limbs, reminds me of one of those skeeters with the long limbs, those fuckers used to scare the shit out of me as a kid.

Very nice. A good portrayal of the "good folk" who aren't always very good.

Pixies in HoMaM would be more interesting if they followed this design.

If Tinker Bell would look like that, she would be as freaky and disgusting as a mosquito.

One of your most magical pieces. I love how this figure combines various fairy aspects, such as the whimsical flittering bug-like features and the necromantic deathly features. In some stories fairies are actually the souls of the dead, and in others they're like ghouls but ten times more hardcore.
I once read a book of Celtic folktales, and one of the stories had fairies which lived in a mansion more metal than any metal album cover I've seen! Corpses and decapitated heads and limbs and flaming torches and pools of blood everywhere. For a fairy party!

In a way this reminds me of the illustrations from a book about all kinds of little people my aunt gave me when I was really young Was one of my most prized possessions.
Good job!

Was it the Faeries Book (1978)? It's beautifully illustrated and showed some of the less idyllic versions of faeries and also some faerie boobs which as a child I thought was super interesting and scandalous.

If you mean the one by Brian Froud/Alan Lee, it is. Or at least a German translation of it, but back then I couldn't read it anyway, just loved the illustrations. Still do.

What a fun coincidence! This book was an important "early influence" for me.
So I am not the only one who thinks the style here is similar?
