Description Head comes from old taxidermy specimen, all the rest has been harvested or extracted personally from variety of animal remains.

I consider her one of my weirdest creations so far.

Do Padlinka as a name has any meaning? Like Valentin means "healthy and strong" (as far as I know... from the internet... ).

It's a word play, Paulinka is a name for a girl while "padlina" means carrion xD

I guess it's really fragile.

It wasn't so difficult, but the effect is kinda crude. Still  I like her and I am quite satisfied here.

It's a play on a Polish name and the world for carrion.

That thing's gorgeous. I have a much bigger interest in bones lately. I actually saw THREE human skulls today along with some specimen jars in person. It was great.

I used to have a human skull for some time, unfortunately it was borrowed and I had to give.it back.

Oh wow! That is awesome! Love the elongated limbs! A bone puppet would be such a cool thing to make, except all the bones in my collection are way too big!

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to EvolutionsVoid [2016-07-24 07:57:02 +0000 UTC]

Thanks. I made the limbs one joint longer than they should be to add the weirdness. What kind of bones o you have?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EvolutionsVoid In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2016-07-24 12:40:25 +0000 UTC]

Primarily deer bones. The areas where I live have tons of hunters who often leave the processed remains nearby the parking lots of one of our natural areas. One just lets time and scavengers do their thing and then it is easy pickings! Those bones would be too big for a puppet. I have started to find some more bird bones, though, so those could work if I find more.

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to EvolutionsVoid [2016-07-24 13:07:21 +0000 UTC]

Bird bones are easy to work with, although very, very delicate.

Deer bones sounds like really cool stuff, while not good for puppets, you could make a sculpture of them.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EvolutionsVoid In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2016-07-24 15:32:47 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, bird bones are a little fragile for crafting. Small mammal bones would probably be the best.

Indeed I am putting the deer bones to good use! I have not done any sculptures yet, but I have built a deer spine lamp, as well as painted a few skulls. I have other ideas I haven't put into motion yet, as I am still trying to figure out the best methods and supplies to use.

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to EvolutionsVoid [2016-07-24 17:39:56 +0000 UTC]

I think it might depend one bone condition though. If you fnd a fresh carcass dissect it, and cleanse the bones yourself they might be much more durable than on those found on decayed or semi decayed carcasses. I believe this might be due to the fact that bones loose some mineral components when exposed to atmospheric conditions. While too fragile for a puppet or jewelry they will still do fine for some kind of static craft, like a sculpture.

Deer spine lamp sounds quite epic, I once made a makeshift "christmas tree" using a boar spine with lights wrapped around it. that was fun. Could you upload some of your boneworks? I'm really curious.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

EvolutionsVoid In reply to KingsOfEvilArt [2016-07-24 18:38:01 +0000 UTC]

Yeah that is definitely a factor. The stuff I collect has the flesh decayed/semi-decayed, as I don't have ways to clean fresh kills. For deer bones that works just fine, as they are pretty sturdy regardless of age. But for smaller guys, I can definitely see it making them a bit more fragile. But so far all my crafts have been static, so it doesn't cause too much of an issue.

I do have my spine lamp posted here, as well as two of my painted skulls.

The boar spine sounds pretty awesome, and a great way to celebrate the holidays! I definitely have to do some more bone work now!

KingsOfEvilArt In reply to EvolutionsVoid [2016-07-25 07:15:11 +0000 UTC]

In case of small animals it's much easier to cleanse even completely fresh corpse so you might have more possiblities of doing that.)

And very impressive works, especially tribal skull.
