Netking #4 , head of character design. Rubirules created and manages the system that allows players to design anything they can imagine for their character model, with approval of course. Rubi fancies himself the court jester of the Netkings, as he loves to troll people, particularly with his not-so-great impressions of them. His power, on the other hand, allows him to perfectly imitate the look and abilities of any player that he reflects the image of off his shiny gem-like body.

I Know Right, I thought the Bad Netking would be Execk, like it was during the Original Series, TTA; I bet the people who watched the Original Series, ALSO Expected the Bad Guy to be Execk as well!!!!!!!!!!!! Actually, he didn't, Kirb planned for Rubirules to be the villain from the very beginning.

It actually seemed like it was going to be Execk like in TTA. He even looks evil in his character portrait. The only time I remember Rubi not caring about SOFDTI's well-being was when Kajet was on the loose and it was totally reasonable to not worry about her. Meanwhile, in the same episode Execk purposely ignores SOFDTI to continue developing the game. Even the D-Buggers logo was gray, like Execk, and looked like his third eye. My guess if Kirb laid breadcrumbs down to lead us to believe it would be Execk again, but then pull the rug out from under us at the last minute.

I assumed the villain would've turned out to be TheDarkEyeOfAnubis for the following reasons:
1. In the original TTA he was the creator of the virus
2. I always felt there was one mysterious presence other than SOFTDI or the Netkings (even when Giga was revealed I still felt that there was someone or something the episode had missed/forgotten to talk about)
3. As you pointed out with the D-Buggers Logo, to me it resembles the headband design (essentially a third eye) for DarkEyesOfAnubis (also note: DARK EYES ofanubis)Β
4. I felt Execk was way too obvious and that we needed someone more subtle, or at least someone who hasn't revealed themselves yet.
I bet that Kirbopher might've planned for DarkEyesOfAnubis to be revealed but dropped it for unknown reasons (possibly time constraints or maybe like what happened with Thorment when he realised the episode didn't make sense with that twist or the fact that there wasn't any build up, etc).

The only thing people had to go on for Execk being bad was that he was bad in TTA, which made equally little sense. Being pragmatic and stoic is not any real basis to go on, just like Rubi being a jerk to the main characters wasn't (which people are suddenly using like it was this big hint. "OMG IT MAKES SO MUCH SENSE BECAUSE HE WAS BEING AN ASS AND EVIL PEOPLE ARE ALWAYS ASSES").
Regardless, Rubi being the bad guy was probably the weakest and most nonsensical twist in this show yet, and was probably done so Zetto and Kizuna didn't seem like AS BIG of assholes as he did. Although then Kirb decided to make Kizuna's last scene have be an absolute bitch, so it looks like the only one of the three of them with their honor intact is Zetto (although he doesn't really, because he is just about as responsible for all this shit as Rubi and Kizuna are).

I've never seen TTA, so I went in blind. I also thought Execk might be bad, but I was REALLY hoping he wouldn't be. I was actually hoping that the big bad would just be Kajet trying to get out into the Internet while Rubi and the hackers was just trying to keep everything contained. Even in the first few minutes of the finale, I thought Rubi was just taking the threat more seriously than the others, but sadly, no.
I was hoping to see a fight including the Netkings and more explanation about Kajet and the anti virus, but hey, I still enjoyed it. Still wish that the big bad wasn't the big bad just for the sake of it, but that's what happened, so I'll just enjoy it for what it is.

Yuri Lowenthal HAD Portrayed Bad Guys before E.G. Sasuke for most of the Latter part of the Series; Dromus/Gen Was Originally A Bad guy, who wanted the Complete Destruction of Earth AND Quarton; But Then became a good guy, since He realised that wasn't what he wanted(But what his Pink-Haired Ex-Partner, Beni/Venetta DID want); Albedo from Alien Force, Ultimate Alien, Omniverse, and ALSO from Omniverse, was Bad Ben, Mad Ben, Benzarro, and Eon in Ultimate Alien; etc

He was a great concept for a netking, however, while I was glad he could duplicate any character of his choice, I was somewhat disappointed he had no other illusion oriented powers like "mirror images" of himself attacking from multiple angles or even temporary invisibility by bending light around him, etc, but then again, thats not necessarily his department, so good job with keeping it consistent with their creation.
