I think I have walked around this ship more times than any other place in Greece. People that follow my work for some time know that I have developed an obsession. I have tried to capture it in the best angles and I know every inch of it by now. It is true what they say that best photographs are the ones of places you are intimate with and this is no exemption. My first attempt was in 2007, I had another go in 2008 but both those attempts had something in common. The skies were way too overcast so I did make a promise to myself that I will always come back until I got a photograph where the sky had an important role in it too. I guess that in 2009 my prayers were answered and on the second sunrise of our holidays the result was this.

Composition wise I tried to position the bow of the ship to the opening of the sky trying to make it look as if it was cracking it. The rest are done by the ship and its magic.
