Description
this is for 's contest. the theme was first encounter. so i drew her character ruby ringtail meeting ringo raccoon. though i had to put emerald in there because she is my favorite jewel character.

story time

it's the middle of the afternoon and ruby and elerald are doing some grocery shopping.

ruby: hey emerald, when we are done here can we go to the park?
emerald: sue ruby let's just hurry up and put these away.

:later at the park:

ruby is swinging on the playground while emerald sits on a bench.

ruby: emerald! why are you just sitting there? i bet you would have more fun playing over here with me!
emerald: okay ruby, i'll come over and swing with you... :ring: :ring: oh hold on ruby i'll be there in a sec. just stay where you are.

emerlad walked off to answer her pone. ruby kept swinging as she was told until she heard music suddenly star from behind the bushes. she jumpedoff the swing and started in the direction the melody was comming from.

ruby: that sounds pretty cool, i wonder what it is.
:behind the bushes:

ringo: that doesn't sund right at all, maybe it's 'd' 'c' not 'c' 'd'...yeah thats sounds tons better.

ruby came out from the bushes to see a red raccoon playing an instrument sitting on the grass.

ruby: thats were the sound iscomming from, she's pretty good. i want to get a closer look. or is it listen?

ruby walked up behind ringo and with out meaning to started dancing. as she danced she got closer to the red raccoon.

ringo: i guess i should head home now though, i have homework to do.

as ringo got up she accidentaly bumped into ruby, knocking her to the ground.

ringo: oops im sooo sorry! i didn't know anyone was behind me
ruby: :gets up: oh thats okay, i'm fine.
ringo: what were you doing behind me though, if you don't mind me asking.
ruby: oh well, you see is was over there and, well i hear you playing your...
ringo: bass
ruby: yeah that, so i came over here to hear you better. anyway, i'm ruby ringtail who are you?
ringo: oh i'm ringo raccoon nice to meet you.

:twenty minutes later:

ruby: so you're in a band that's so cool!
ringo: teehee, so ruby do you play any intsuments?
ruby: well-
emerald: ruby wre are you?!?! ruuuby!
ruby: oh no! i forgot about emerald, well i gotta go now! see you later rngo!
ringo: bye ruby!

rigo gave ruby a pat on the head as she ran off to join her friend. after watching te little raccoon go she set off n her way home.
