Description
Early morning light coming in over the desert.Notable since this was a 1.3 sec handheld exposure at 18mm - Nikon's VR really does work as advertised

I spotted this one in your gallery at qr.com.
I was hoping it would end up here.
Definitely creates a pleasant ambience.
As for the shake-reduction stuff, I realised that my Pentax's shake reduction works quite well too -- as long as one doesn't zoom in too much (although mileage varies with lighting conditions and shutter-speed)

Thanks Neil
Yes, VR is a life saver in that iffy before-sunrise, after-sunset light where everything starts looking so nifty. Stick to wide angle, and you can shoot down to half a second or so with impunity - you'll get a lot of blurry ones too obviously, but do the usual digital thing of shooting a bunch picking the best.

My first one is always the best -- unless I only take one, in which case it's all blurred (but didn't seem blurred on the LCD screen)
