Description
This works as a choker or tiara (but it's really heavy!).All fine silver (99.9% silver).
This one was largely experimental, testing my skills with flowers.

Lovely metalwork! They look delicate despite being made of metal... as if they'd rustle in a strong breeze. Nice photography as well.

Simply freaking amazing....I'm completely in awe. Is this sheet silver, or art clay? *bows down* I'm good, but you are astounding.

Well, this start out as silver pellets, I melt them to make sheets and wires. the sheets become the roses and leaves and the wire... well, you know what the wire is for.
I make the leaves and roses into pendants before I put them together. This gives me some 'insurance' - if you will - in case the piece doesn't work out, I can take it apart and still use the leaves and roses in another piece.

wow that is honestly sooo well done!!! most silver jewelry on here, well there is some good studd but it usually has a lot of flaws, it's not as smoothly done as this. or shiny! and the roses are just amazing! I will smile for a long time thanks to this prettiness

Finished your ring today! I re-made it from scratch. All that's left is to make it black and give it a final spin in the tumbler. 2.5 inches right?

How did you do the rose petals?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Klyph In reply to diamondwhitewolf [2006-05-11 06:23:12 +0000 UTC]
When fine silver first comes out from the machine as a sheet, it's rather soft, and I use a pair of metal cutters to cut it into the shape I want, then pliers and a hammer-and-rubberpad combo helps shape the petals before welding.
It's fun to figure things out like a jigsaw puzzle.

ok, wow. yah i took Jewery (basic, and a casting class) and we got our silver for a ring that we had to make. and we had a jewelers saw to cut it and then file the edges down etc etc. so when you said you did it all in 5 hours i was like WHA! and by welding do you mean soldering the things together?
PS:thank you for answering my questions!

Klyph In reply to diamondwhitewolf [2006-05-13 08:56:05 +0000 UTC]
Yep, I meant soldering. My uncle calls it welding - whatever works. hee hee.
I make the roses and leaves as separate charms before putting them together with wire. The actual choker doesn't use any solder at all.

i love your leaves but need a few witches thrown in, with a cat,moon,sun......and about 9 inches so it moves everywhere and makes a bit of noise.....earrings would be a combination , ......you are the artist...you know what you do well.....i will take your piece to a few exclusive shops here in hollywood florida, where i live and see if they want to carry some of your things...,if you want....give me a approximate price so i can save up my millions, ha ha, and when it might be completed.....around august woud be perfect.thanks for responding....
