Description
Yeah, I love ink and pen, I love strange animals, and I love okapis. Now, could you ride one? Dunno... but they're terribly cool. I was at the Denver Zoo and watched one for hours. They had to drag me off to finish the zoo.Very quick pen and ink. I might settle in and do a serious one some time of an okapi.... I really think they're gorgeous.

This looks really interesting, and almost tribal somehow. I love the style you used. Something about this is just really eye-appealing.

Such a pretty okapi! The one awesome African animal that's never been truly included. I love the look you gave this one, and the saddle is just precious. He got very shy-okapi look about him, too, which is characteristic for the species. He looks like he's thinking, "Do I run off into the forest as fast as I can with this saddle on me, or do I be polite and let the human take it off me before I run off into the forest as fast as I can?" Classic.
I didn't know they rode them in Swiss Family Robinson! Must go and consult my copy, which is unfortunately a kid's version so it might not have it. Then again, the book is illustrated, so if they do have it, there might be a drawing of the okapi...which would be most amazing but cool
Anyways, love the okapi.

I like it, it reminds me of an old Native American horse. It gives the feeling of going back to the NA times also, and i like that feeling. great drawing, okapis are cute. (:

Well, actually it is possible to ride them and even make them pull a cart. I've seen that twice during a trip to africa. Their tack is quite different but still they are available for riding and cart pulling.

I've wondered what it'd be like to ride an okapi as well.

Nice, I love the look of the saddle, which seems very tribal in prospective. Riding an okapi might be hard, but then again, I'm writing a series in which there are some unusuall mounts in it.

beautiful, everything about it. I love okapis, and this picture usest every good aspect of them, the saddle almost looks native american, which also gives it a good twist. I give this an A+

Okapis, the giraffe's only relative... yeah, I'm an okapi lover, too. ^_^ They're so neat to look at and they're so rare these days...
Awesome pic, as always; fabulous detail. I like the oddly mixed ethnic feel of the tack, the feather hanging from the halter looks more Native American, yet it has a very Arabian feel, too.

Wow...the detail in this is amazing!
Yeah, I'd really like to know if you could ride one, too...in The Swiss Family Robinson (the book), they did, but I honestly doubt it would be that easy
Great work!
