...I just started out wanting to draw Baiken. There's not enough art of her out there, and she's my favorite Guilty Gear character.And somewhere along the way, I came up with one of the most moody/emo things I've ever done. I don't know where I got the idea of her missing arm still holding on to the questions and pain of that day (google Baiken's history if you're confused), but that's what I ended up with.
Thoughts on this? Too weird?
P.S. I feel the need to defend myself a bit here - I didn't draw Baiken shirtless for sexy reasons (although she is sexy, of course). I just couldn't show the arm with her kimono over it...yeah, that's all...move along...

I don't know anything about the character. But this is pretty cool. The ethereal arm is a nice touch.

It does indeed. There were always a few things that baffle me about her though- one: Does she ever fight "That Man", and two: Where does she keep the weapons cache?

One of her endings from XX has her facing (but being unable to defeat) That Man before he escapes, either because he's too powerful or because Anji interrupts.
As for the weapon's cache...some things are best left unknown...

i love the detail, most of the time color is needed for great detail you did it all with b/w.

Ok - I did have to google Baiken... but that gave me a chance to compare your art with other fan art out there...
I have to say, I really like this piece.
And I dont care about your reasons. Feel free to draw shirtless women for whatever reason you like...

I don't think it's weird. But as you know, I've used the missing-hand motif myself--it's a good way of showing certain ideas.
As for the shirtlessness, as a general rule your unclothed women don't look like NAKED WOMEN to me, they look like women who for whatever reason happen to not be wearing clothes at the moment. I hope that made sense.
