Description
My new silver fox plush from Leopardpaws inspired me to do a variation pic with my silver pelts. His coloration is so much different than my other silver pelts. I've never seen such contrast in the guard hairs before. His is in the middle.
From left right:
Aged silver pearl
Dark Silver
Platinum silver..i think (not a platinum fox)
Silver
Silver
This is of course what I believe the colors to be from what I've researched. I could be off. Any corrections from people who are more educated with ranch colors are welcomed lol I only know so much for the year and a half of becoming more interested in learning about ranched fox colors

I think that actually might be a grey fox skull from the shape of the nose bridge. It tapers more so than a red fox's would I could be wrong, but that's the first thing that came to mind when I saw it. I'd look it up on google to make sure

I don't actually know much about ranges of different fox species... But i found this particular skull in my grandmother's back yard in southern-ish Texas...

only way to really tell if it's a fox kit skull is to take it to someone who specializes in skulls and bones I know a little about skulls, but I'm no pro xD

oh thank you! I couldn't find pictures that clear.
I am thinking it may be the red fox still, but the size of the canines throw me off... So it may be a grey fox, the teeth are right.... then again, i do believe it to still be a young one, because the skull is smaller than the length of my hand...
It is deffinately not a Kit/Swift fox, the bridge of the nose is too long.... So it is either a grey or a red... I wonder if there is a taxedermist near where i live...
Oh now i am thinking out loud, sorry! XD
I ramble on when i am sleepy, and i was putting off bed to get your answers and help. ^.^;;

Yeah the canines look too fully developed to be a fox kit in my opinion.
Grey fox skulls normally are smaller than your hand x3 Greys are significantly smaller than reds. My red fox skull is about 5 1/2" long. It still could be a fox kit, but you'd have to ask a professional lol You can always go on taxidermy.net and ask. There's a lot of knowledgeable people on there.
S'okay x3 I do the same. It's 4:12am for me right now, I know how you feel XD
I'm glad I could help :3
