Totally not sure if that's the right category, but I've had almost no sleep and about as much coffee.Started drawing the wolf's head at my sister's basketball game last week, but randomly decided to add MOAR yesterday night and it evolved into a fairytale-themed thing.
Why the random birds? In a really neat story revision (Newgrounds [link] ), a forest bird warns Red that she's eating her mom's flesh.
How pleasant.
Feel free to critique, although I can't change a darn thing. 8Db (Plus, I've been staring at it long enough to know the various things I did wrong while inking it, haha).
Tools Used: 8.5"x5.5" sketchbook page, ballpoint pen + Photoshop (shading/cheap color)

I liked the way as the wolf launches a glance pursuing, almost greedy, on the calm red.
If this image was used as layer of a book would be really great.

Anybody watch Jin-roh? That was the first time I ever heard of that particular version of the story.
That's what prompted me to look for older, less edited versions of fairie tales. I actually prefer them to the "happily ever after" stuff.

But yah... I agree. XD The original fairy tales tend to have a lot more depth to them (although Disney does rewrite them pretty well).

I drew the axe because the woodsman would require basic anatomy, etc. haha. >3> *got a bit lazy* Figured an axe does the job just as well. 8D

I'm *pretty sure* it was Red Riding Hood... or something close LOL. There was definitely a German fairy tale like this, so...
Now I'm gonna have to go re-read the stories and figure out if I remembered correctly LAWL.
