Are you planning to sell the book? I'd rather you didn't if you plan to sell the book. If you are gonna sell the book I'd be happy to make a map for you as a commission.

Haha I'm so glad you like it. Its a long process, took around 6 hours to get it like this using photoshop. I started out using difference clouds and then applying threshold to it to get nice shapes and then rearranging them to make a nice landmass. Then just lay down basic colors and a whole host of filters and texture effects, lots of trial and error. I got lots of inspiration from the Cartographers' Guild, jezelf has a great tutorial outlining the basics.

I've been making maps for my boyfriend's novels, one of them is on my gallery I think. Also made one for a larp group I really like the way yours looks, it is gorgeous and reminds me of the Skyrim and Oblivion maps!

I'm flattered, I'm glad it looks nice. I took a peak and saw your maps, they're quite nice I like them. I'm still experimenting with topography on my maps, like say Tolkien used, but I can't seem to get it right.

I made some simple brushes for mine but they could be way better, I'm terrible with shading as far as hand drawing mountains and such!

I tried that, but I didn't much like the look. I may just have to use a tablet and do them individually haha
