REFERENCE: www.pinterest.com/pin/51784365…Weee this was a fun one! I've wanted to do this angle for a while, just had lacked a good reference for it. I finally found it and decided to take it on with charcoals and my much underused toned paper. This is only the second piece I've done with the toned paper, so it's still a bit tough to know what the midtones need to be and what to and not to shade. I wanted to make a lot of use for highlights with the white. I wish my white charcoal was softer so it would be a bit easier to lay down, so for areas that needed more highlights, I took my white pen and laid a few dots and lines down.
Just a random gryphon--no character, really.
