It's that time again. Time to update my folder icons once again.This is most of the icons that are up in my Gallery.
I am not perfect and I happened to forgot to save a larger image of Folder: Keroro and Misc. I only have the smaller Icons available for those two so they will not be featured here.
Tinier things looks better than the big ones.

I've got folders for colored, 3D, sketches, and anything else. Just those, though I may organize them into things like you from "OCs" and "Gifts" herp.

That could work, or I could draw up some specific icons and then have them styled to represent what they are... Like I said, I'll do this in the future but your idea is good

Make big words, then shrink them down using an editing program.
