so i was scrolling through some tlk screenshots for future model studies and came across the bottom picture and even though ive seen that scene well over 100 times, something about it really hit me this time. idk, i feel like it's the emotion in Simba's eyes mixed with the mood lighting, it just got me real hard and it felt like the most beautiful thing i'd ever seen

i re-drew it not to "improve" it or think i can do better, but just because i knew it would feel so cathartic to draw something so silent and still

ive been working on fan art and trades so much recently so it was a pleasant surprise to find this really calming to do, i'm still slowly coming back off hiatus but it's taking some time

top is mine, bottom is disney, done in about an hour
nothing is traced but it's obviously heavily referenced, also please don't drag me for my background i know it's the same plant just copy/pasted 19 times orz
