why does it have a block heater? having one on a gasser is a bit redundant

The owner of the truck only owns this GMC, he asked my friends dad to store it here and is working on getting the money to restore it completely, it was his dad's old truck as well. There are some vehicles here that are for sale for cheap, including a '63 Impala and maybe even a 66-67 Chevelle!
