I think this can be described as both anime and fantasy, it is a mixture of both. I looked at Donatello's David ( one of my favorite sculptures), made him more slender and dressed him. It is done in graphite on heavy drawing paper.Related content

I remember doing a whole entire research project on the artists of the Rennaisance and when I came across this statue I fell in love-I would just like to say I really love this piece of my beloved david

Hey hey, its David! I had the pleasure to see this in person. Even wrote a paper on him! I like the dramatic sweep of his cape, and you did a good job making him into a kind of character! Yes, he does look awfully bishy, but is that really a bad thing?

Not to me it isn't! Naw, this is one of my favorite sculptures and it was just crying out," Make me anime"!. I am on a kick now where I am taking sculptures and doing that. Some are so beautiful!

Absolutely! I saw Michelangelo's David as well, I tried drawing his big toe and couldn't even do it justice. Drawing him was like trying to draw a real live person!
Anime-izing sculptures is a really cool idea! Especially if you're planning on doing Italian Rennaissance sculptures! Do you know Bernini? I really recommend looking at his stuff, its soooo freekin cool!

Ok, I'll look him up. The name is familar but I have seen so much I forget what is what. Did you see this sculpture in real life? That would be awesome to me! Thank you again! I will get to work on that. I also did a sculpture of Hercules in my gallary after I finished the last Castlevania game so he kind of has on Leon's clothing. I think I screwed up because his head is too big. Go find it and lemme know what you think. I do love my David, though.

Really cool...the shading is perfect! Nice pose, although the right leg (the viewer's right), looks kind of off for some reason...other than that, a nearly flawless pic!
