Description Homunculus 3. An ongoing series inspired by recent studies into alchemy. This is the first real painting I've done in a year. Took me a couple days to get back into the brushwork, but once I got going I realized how vital and nourishing painting is. Doing design, typography, and printing is very fulfilling, but ink painting is a deep seated ritual that takes me to a place of ecstatic awareness.

Need to clean this up and adjust the image balance, but wanted to put this out because I am excited to have finished it.

I'm always a bit mystified with the delicacy of your
brush work. It's captivating to say the least....
...also, for such as elegant composition and design
there's ocean of information to analyze. I can see
the vulture and moth, but I'm still trying to gather
what other symobols or creatures you may have included...
...is there a spider above the mandible?
By the way I love the structure of the skull.

Oh and might I add, welcome back from your seemingly
long absence, my friend. I missed seeing your work.
take care...

Wow, amazing and so detailed!
If I may give you an advice... I think this work would look even better if you change brightness and contrast a bit
