Description DESTROY! DESTROY! DESTROY! LET'S DESTROY EVERYTHING!!!

This is what completely summarizes the final battle of Final Fantasy 6, a game that completely rocked many story elements of gaming from it's time onwards, especially with the villains. For the first time in the series, the villain is given a more defined personality and is actually one that does not blantantly go out there and hates the protagonist's guts...he hates everyone. And everything. And you don't even get an irking that he is pulling the strings until it's too late. Kefka redifined the meaning of a villain and not just because he was one of the few who actually succeded: he never cared. He just did whatever came to his mind because he simply was able to. No restraints. Go out with a bang (which he actually did XD)!

The entire game was deep. Really. Not only the concept of the story, but the character backrounds were well thought. Some of the character's backrounds did not fit at all to the overall scheme of things. Locke, Setzer, Shadow and others...They did not have any particular reason to join on this whole fray other than the objectives their lives already had anyway, objectives that somehow got interwined with Kefka and the tragedy he brought. And yet their stories were compelling enough so that you don't dismiss them. They still followed the ones who were directly affected by Kefka. Terra, Cyan, Celes...A strong character bonding indeed. In the end, come to think of it, they all had one thing in common against him...to give their reasons a better world to stay on (especially in Shadow's case).

All in all, FF6 made a game that really came close to the optimal standards of a quality game. And for the time it came out, that means a lot. And still does. Few games, nowadays, can keep you interested and make you want to finish the game, not just because you happened to start and must see it to the end, but also because it can genuinely make you wonder what the hell will happen next and how much more suffer the poor things you control will take. Indeed, an element that many games of today seem to lack.

And of course, with awesome battles comes great remixes. And who are you to say no to an invitation from madness to dance with it?
