Description
After attending my first ever Comic Con in Denver last month, I was inspired by the vast number of amazing cosplayers that attended and decided that I want to dress up for the one happening next year. Most of you may have seen a poll on my page from a few weeks ago asking which of the Mane 6 I should dress up as. Applejack won, Rarity was 2nd, and Pinkie Pie was a close 3rd. However, since Applejack is fairly easy and I haven't come up with an outfit for her yet, I decided to design a costume for Rarity first. This is what I came up with
I ended up having to use a body base since my anatomy is horrible and I didn't want to spend a whole lot of time stressing over that when I should be focusing on the costume itself. Sorry about that
Anyways, the outfit design was inspired by *X-Arielle 's version of Rarity seen here [link] -there's a better example on her tumblr but I have to find the link-. I chose to go with a victorian style dress blouse that's buttoned down and has a violet cami underneath paired with a high-waisted pencil skirt to fit Rarity's classy & businesslike personality while adding a bit of "saucyness" with the slit. I'm hoping to find cutie mark patches in Rarity's style so I can just sew those on to the skirt for embellishment.
As for the shoes, I may end up changing them to flats or a kitten heel depending on what I can find because I personally can't walk in super tall heels without murdering my feet Anyways, I plan on glamming them up a bit by hot-gluing light blue, purple, and "diamond" rhinestone embellishments on the back of them.
Aside from that, all I'd need is a measuring tape and a somewhat long, heat-resistant purple wig to style, and then voila! Instant giginka Rarity

tl;dr: Going to Denver Comic Con next year as a humanized pony. Had to use a base for the body cuz I can't anatomy. I know exactly what I need to buy to make this happen

What do you think? I'll come up with an Applejack design soon but until then, I'd really like some opinions on this
