In the volume 2 manga, Racer X does decide he wants to return home to his family. I don't know why he didn't in the anime, but I colorized it to make it look like the anime version on tv.It couldn't get any more exciting!

Did that mean Rex Racer wanted to return home to his family? If so, and if family is so important even to him he would've ran away in the first place, even if Pops was a major hot-head. But "Mom" should've share half the shame in letting him go.

It actually kinda annoyed me in that he didn't in the anime. Especially since the show hinted at like 5 times. (It's why I won't watch The Trick Race)

GREAT JOB! I wish this HAD happened in the show If you remember the old disney Aladdin movie "The Return of Jafar" and that song the Genie sang "Nothing In The World (quite like a friend)" If only Rex had decided to finally come home and sing THAT! Only it would have been "Nothing In The World" (like FAMILY)

Racer X did return from the Manga though. So hopefully he will return in the new Speed Racer series that Tatsunoko has in the works.
