Here is a little 'tutorial' thing that I made of this piece: Heavy clouds in the skyIt shows how I start my manipulations, how I do the prepping, coloring, mane painting and shadows.

I have a question; how do you maintain such an high quality? whenever im making something it always end up 'dirty' or grainy, if you now what i mean..?

I always search for high quality stock, and if I can't find any I try to repaint over the
stock as good as I can to make it look more realistic.
For example:
I repainted the horse coat in the front entirely since the coat of this stock was rather crispy,
and there where some imperfections, but I just loved the pose.
