Description I met a girl on a carnival
In Rio de Janeiro...
We danced all night on a boulevard
In doorways we did the tango...

We were dancing in a summer rain,
We were dancing through a night...

Mara's not going to be happy at being "mistaken for a man" again!
Then again... maybe this time, she'll make an exception.

Well, I guess "being mistaken for a man" and "pretending to be a man" are two different things. She seemed to enjoy it during her first appearance in the manga.

Well, it was for the sake of doing her job-- trying to make Belldandy abandon her contract with Keiichi by messing with their relationship. I think after that, she was recognized as a woman, but mistaken for a rapist, by Sayoko and Megumi. Even in her more androgynous guise, she looks pretty-- as close to "pretty" as a demon can get, anyway. It kind of bothers me how both incidents were played more for humor in the TV series.

Well, anime simplifies all the characters, and especially Mara. While in the manga she's just horribly unlucky, in the anime she's often plain stupid. As for her pretending to be a guy in this picture, I have my head!canon about these two, where Mara takes a masculine role from time to time just for fun. Obviously, I'm not saying it's true for the real story.

The only characters I liked more in the animΓ© than in the manga were Urd, Peorth, and Hild. Everyone else seemed exaggerated compared to how they were during the manga's peak, or the OVA. The only thing I really liked was how they streamlined the storywriting some, and even then, about midway through Flights of Fancy, that fell apart as well. It goes to show just how much Fujishima has fallen from grace over the past eight or so years. I'd really like to know what happened...

In a romantic relationship between Urd and Mara, I can definitely see Mara play a more masculine role, and I don't mean she'd be the "butch" one. Even after she was revealed to be, well, a she, quite a few of her outfits seemed to be a little gender-ambiguous, especially the black-and-gold-trim outfit she's always drawn in as of late. No offense, but here she looks a little too much like a pretty-boy for my liking.

Wow. Didn't think i'd ever see a photo that had Urd with her hair done up like that instead of free flowing. Looks awesome!

Thanks!
Actually her hair style was copied from an official picture (three sisters in kimono).
