What a cool origin story! Love how you interpreted their human forms.

So...let me get this straight...
Wizard - Carpet
Guard - Cave Guardian
Fat wizard - Iago
Tall wizard - Jafar
This is genius. The art was great and everything works flawlessly as a little prequel to the film! Great job!

Great comic! I read the whole thing on your site.
I thought the guy's robe and the "fat one"'s (XD) face looked familiar, but I didn't make the connection until the end. Those were nice twists. My only question is, what happened to the royal guard? Did he become the gate?

Oh my goodness! This comic is absolutely amazing. I adore the background history you give to such loved characters, your style, the colors, the action, all of it! I really enjoyed reading it. <3 Thank you so much for making such a beautiful piece.

Landwalker, have you considered messaging some of the former Disney animators about this comic? I feel like Andreas Deja (supervising animator for Jafar) and maybe Will Finn (for Iago) would appreciate/enjoy your work. I don't know about Finn, but I know Deja runs an interesting art-and-animation-centered blog called "Deja View", where you can contact him.

Unfortunately I remember nothing of the Disney movies I watched centuries ago, so I get this is a prequel but not much more.
But damn.
This was a fantastic read, the dialogues and characters are good, the story is really nice and intriguing as a standalone and the art omg.
You outdid yourself, colors and layout are amazing.
Thinking about your first nuzlocke (which, I know quite well by now, lol) this shows the amazing progress you made in your art, really inspiring.
Excellent job on this, I look forward to your next pieces!

Wow, it's been about 15 years or more since I've seen Aladin. This, this was really cool. REALLY cool.
I never really liked that movie in the first place, but seeing this makes me want to go watch it again. Excellent work you two. This was absolutely stunning.

Wow....

That was stellar. My hat's off to you and your friend Theo. Beautifully illustrated, wonderfully crafted to suit the story.
I'm curious as to what happened with the lamp before, though there's hints and teases about what it might have been. Genie never mentioned anything about what he'd done before he met Aladdin, but still I wonder what happened then....Hm...Maybe a chance for another story c:
Great job!

And about the lamp - yeah, there's still a lot to think about I guess...

I'd like to create a TV Tropes page for this comic, if you know about that site. Is there any name for the two heroes that can be used without spoiling their identities, like "the Guard" or "the Mage" or "the Soldier", etc.

land-walker In reply to Tuckerscreator [2015-10-09 09:35:07 +0000 UTC]
Wow, thanks! And, uh, I don't know, I always reffered to them as "The Tiger" and "The Carpet", But I guess that's too spolier-y, so I think "The Guard" and "The Mage" work just fine.

That was amazing!
One thing tumbling in my mind is, the hero that broke the staff, is he is related to Aladdin in any way (like father? or just a diamond in the rough?)

land-walker In reply to ShavingSheep [2015-10-09 09:36:04 +0000 UTC]
Thanks!
And they're not related (at least not in our plot scheme) but who knows, right?
