You brought a crown of leaves and orange blossoms, for yourself you made one of vines, which you placed upon my head, and called me Chloe. - Maria Clara (Noli Me Tangere). Chloe, also referred to as Demeter, the Greek goddess of fertility and agriculture. This is a portrait of Maria Clara as a young girl, adored by Crisostomo Ibarra.
