(also idk if you look for tips or not, but if you ever get into adding small detail like wires you might look at subtle placement like some sprouting from joins like the elbows or back of the jaw

actually wires hanging out from any kind of robot are an extremely obsolete design. Real robots are all very polished, and all wires are always protected inside a chasing. Only unfinished or experimental robots have wires hanging out because they are, clearly, unfinished and not suitable to function outside of a lab. Can you imagine exposed wires and rain? They surely don't mix well.
You don't have to start drawing robots strangled by their own wires unless you want to go back to the 80s or you are into robot gore, lol. Your robots already looks plausible the way they are.

I gotcha, though I still think I should add more detail to my some of my bots because they lack oomph... But then when I do it mostly doesn't add anything and just makes them look worse. :,D
Going back to the 80s is actually something I kinda want lol... But more like with fantasy robots such asΒ thisΒ rather than real ones.

If youβre looking for more detail on your bots, you could always add extremely subtle ones, such as gears, pistons, servos and such on the joints! One amazing example I have is a commission of Spider, where if you look at it you can see all sorts of mechanical detailing ^^

Honestly I think it's more that my designs could use a bit more involved shapes... I mean look at this guy . So much basic cubes and geometry, I think adding bevels would go a long way in making him look more interesting.
Also a good grasp on metallic, reflective lighting on flat angular surfaces would also help! Except I gave up on that long ago because trying to learn and understand it is beyond hell and physically painful. People who complain about how hard hands are to draw don't know nothing until they try and make their blocky, non-curvy robots shiny and have it look good!
