January 27 - 29, 2011As promised, I have uploaded the first few of my speed sketches.. I didn't bother to clean them.
I'm sorry I didn't clock it, senpai
but I'm obviously in a hurry when I drew these. ehehe.You can see in the upper sketches that I totally suck at drawing circles, ellipses and straight lines so I practiced a bit.
*sigh* Hopefully, I could see improvement in the coming days..

my first sketch was far worse than yours really...T.T

btw, i ordered color pencils (24) and brushes (just simple ones) last night and they're going to be shipped by feb. 25th. yay!! ^^

there are two kind of training to simply make your brain, imagination and hand synchronize more..but its kinda hard...
-first one is to draw a situation somewhere, a scene perhaps, its up to you..but you can't lift the pen or pencil that you use..in other word, draw the scene in with one line! seriously! line break will be counted as failure.
-second training that i love to do my self up until now is..um..let say 'fleeting memories' training..lol..basically what you have to do is memorize a shape of something..let's say..a glass...what you have to do is take a look at the glass for at least 20-30 seconds, then close your eyes without opening it again and draw the shape/image that you memorize with eyes closed in a short time..lol

yep, blind drawing.. that is why I said it was Fleeting memories..to see if you really memorized the shape..imagine if you are good in this, just by seeing something in a second, you can remember the shape and details, and later on, being able to draw it without seeing the real thing..get my point? ^^
oh and also, I suggest you to learn or practice a bit of realism side..it's very useful as a base of drawing and shading.

but how can i draw if my eyes were closed? T_T i'm not allowed to look at the paper? T_T that's hard! expect to see drawings by five year olds then T_T

yup, no peeking at the paper, that is why you have to do it quick...
a rough sketch only without shading..lol..
I can't do that too..LOL
realism only for a base, I'm not telling you to practice all with realism..lol
I just say that it is much better if you understand more and able to draw realism, because it will help you a lot, especially in shading ^^

see, that is why I'm asking you in the first place if you are owkay doin two practice in a day..lol..just keep the technique for later if you want, you don't have to do it everyday too, only if you want ^^

oh, man! and i thought speed sketching was hard o_O
so for the first one, is it ok if i copy, say, a picture?

i don't have to time both, right? i mean, i can draw as long as i want?
ehh.. i haven't colored anything >.< the last time i colored something was, i dunno.. for a class project wayy, wayyy back. i think i used pastels then. but color pencils, nah-uh. never. >.< sheesh!

copying is owkay, but better if you not, just draw still life..not active scene which is quite difficult for now...
you don't have to time both, but the faster you do it, the better, coz it makes your right and left brain work harder to the max..XD (seriously) it's up to you, this is for your own improvement ^^
