9 x 12 Oil on gator boardI was sudying a Gauguin painting and decided to use his ideas and interpret it my own way.

Sandpaper creates unity. I also find that, for me, the details become to important so sanding also keeps the painting more loose and free. I think I used 220 grain sandpaper.

Reminds me of gently erotic murals decorating ancient Roman living rooms. I'm glad you got the DD, for without it I wouldn't necessarily have found your gallery. It speaks to me, I speak to myself through it, either way.

Emerald green mixed with white, it's a Van Gogh color, and veridian + white. It's so beautiful I painted the canvas wtih it before I painted the painting.
