I'm late for the Character design challenge, but I love Egyptian mythology and..was inspired at the moment the deadline was finished- oops-

(I must admit, Rick Riordan inspired me because of the Kane Chronicles... but schh)

Man, I'm really digging the heavy colors you used here! The thick black outlines add to it, almost making it reminiscent of a sketch done with a paintbrush on canvas. All of this really makes the sun pop and bring the focus to his face (from where we can follow his body down, then back up through the swirling sand).
