Continuing with the intense difficulties and complexity of the Master Cup is a full-blown tribute to the Kirby Anime and the original dark eldritch boss of the Kirby Series. As the name implies, Nightmare fortress takes you to the darkness-enshrouded stronghold of the Nightmare wizard from Kirby Adventure/Nightmare in Dreamland. Based on the designs from the final two episodes of Right Back at Ya, this fortification serves as a homebase for the many monsters and airships run by the HolyNightMare enterprises. On top of that, multiple enemy air riders on the original Air Ride machine also guard the fortress, ready to shoot down any riders who dare intrude. Do you have what it takes to be a true star warrior?

1. Start off in the lower right on a transit system that goes throughout the fortress. In this area of respite, multiple surviving star warriors from the nightmare wars cheer you on as they prepare for battle. Go into a golden cannon based on the goal games from SuperStar, stationed in a hollowed throne room with an image of the original Nightmare orb. Here, the cannon will blast you onto a large UFO machine, this time paying tribute to the event from City Trial (still the best part of the original Air Ride, better be incorporated in any sequel!)

2. On the main UFO, here lies the first major test of this course. Navigate through electric fences across the main UFO, dodging multiple Air Riders as they try to shoot down racers, multiple NME monsters that patrol, sawyer gears that cut through the course, and the iconic Masher 2.0 from the anime. A central All Power Up sits on the UFO in dedication to the original city trial. Navigate until you reach a hole that will drop you onto a lower UFO, this one holding multiple Kaiju dragons. Dodge their wrath before entering a final cannon that will take you to the lower right part of the course.

3. Here, drive through a dark city within the internal fortress. On top of individual monsters, you also must content with smaller UFO destroyers that will fire lasers down to obliterate any unsuspecting riders in their paths. Truly skilled riders will try to gain airtime and use the boost pads on the UFO.

4. In this next section, drive across an enlarged chess board, with multiple chess monster pieces alongside the nightmare-themed chess pieces that will attack any riders in their path. Beware as NME turrets and enemy Air Riders will also try to fire on any airborne riders as you navigate this maze of an area.

5. In this final section, reach another dark city where the main NME headquarters looms in the distance (where the NME sales guy lives ready to send more monsters to clobber that der Kirby!). However, he will be the least of your concerns as the main feature of this section is the Nightmare wizard himself in the flesh!. He will cast his dark magic on the area, including shrouding the course in darkness, forcing riders to memorize the path lest they fall off! IF that wasn't hard enough, two of the most iconic monsters from the anime, the galaxia guardian Kirisakin and the formidable Wolfwrath, will also attack riders that cross this section. Test your skill and mettle as you fend of these riders, return back to the starting area to complete the lap!
