Description
Heh, try to solve this code.A clue : You know, the source of this thing is one of the best RPG game I have ever played.
Happy decrypting!
EDIT: Larger pic, also changed clue.
EDIT #2: Solution (.doc file). Lol, seemed that its too hard.

Neat! My first instinct was to turn the symbols into letters at random and see if it was just a simple substitution, but your remark about a "salt" made me doubt it would be that simple, so I read the comments. After looking up that font, I was able to turn the text into letters (mostly; they're kind of scrunched together). I dismissed the possibilities of substitution (which wouldn't be fair with just 24 letters) and anagrams (what word would "ihtks" make?). I looked up what a "salt" is, and it didn't help, so I figured this was some technique I didn't know and checked the solution. And voila, it's a nice simple route transposition! I feel dumb for not trying that.
Two observations. One, this was blatantly unfair until you identified the font. To a non-font-knower, it's effectively transposition plus substitution -- which you do see sometimes, but requires much more text to be solvable. Two, since you used route transposition and not a complete columnar or something, I don't see how this cipher has a "salt" at all. What is it?

Thanks, THAT is the comment I am waiting for! It's an old stuff actually lol. I made it up for some secret letters to a friend, and I've moved on to other things.
Actually I just put them into a 5 x 5 matrix, and transpose them. And then changed the fonts XD. I think I'll delete the 'salt' part. Or not. It makes thing interesting .
I want to learn a thing or two from you about simple encryption like this, if possible?

Sure, I'd be happy to. Cryptography is a longtime hobby of mine. Drop me a PM and we'll go from there.

*reads the solution* oh! so it was several sentences! lol I thought each one was a word
well, how did you encrypt them? did you use a specific algorithm?

I cut them up and rearranged it into 5 groups of letters by using a grid! XP
