Umm...Maya's actually the Buddha's mother and while traveling back home, she gave birth to Buddha in the forest grove and the tree bent down to give her support. That's why you see a lot of paintings or images where she held on to a tree branch with the little Buddha. The forest grove is in Lumbini, in Nepal.
Having said all that, your artwork is really beautiful and I'm adding it to my fav.

I stand corrected and slightly embarassed after verifying what you say is true. I regret having assumed something I do not know. Thanks for the +fav!

It wasn't really my intention to correct you. It's more of sharing an info that I know, since you drew it so well!

I'm so glad you did. You helped settle a dispute between me and a friend as to who she is.

have you tried coloring onto the plexiglass plate before using colored ink? Just out of curiousity

Hmm i've never done that or seen it done before, but I bet it would make an interesting effect. It would be hard to stay in the lines though, that's for sure!

I've done it before. You need an additional plexiglass plate that is blank and you color within the lines that way.

I don't fully understand the technique used, but I'm surprised you've not had any comments so far. This is quite detailed, uses lovely colours, and is a great subject. I particularly like the leaves on the tree. Good job

Thanks so much for taking a look. Basically, heres the process:
scratch on a piece of plexiglass
rub ink on it
wipe off excess ink
press it onto paper
