So, for some reason, the youtube algorithm decided that I needed to see some videos of a person 'bonking' a small sort of animal robot, using scout voice lines. Watching this, this resulted in me being recommended some videos of someone working on what to me looks like cosplay work - building a furry / visor helmet which used some sort of display to show emotions (or emoticons). It was quite an impressive piece of work, to be honest. I can imagine the 'battery depleted' emoticon such a visor could display might be useful for introverts. Turns out the creature said animal robot was called a 'protogen', a kind of cybernetic sci-fi furry species.

Seeing the visor, I kind of wondered what a X-COM 2 Avatar / protogen would look like. And then instantly recalled the pony version floating around on DA. So instead I got curious about a galaxy-face protogen instead, wanting to experiment with colours / nebula drawing. Which is as good an excuse as any to draw something.

I don't really know where the idea for the starry halo came from, but given that the creature has cybernetics, I guess it's a Cyberpunk 2077 / Deus Ex / Neuromancer thing I had dormant in the back of my mind. I'm not as happy with this as I was with the initial sketches. I may have to come back to this. Proportions are terrible as ever, but somehow I'm particularily unhappy with this. Colours definitely need work, too. 'Dark Cyberpunk' might work as a scheme but it's hard to implement with colour pencils. By the way, I did end up making a better version of this , after studying a tutorial on Protogen body shapes.

Anyway, that's the other demon exorsized. Time to move onto other things.

I don't really get the concept of 'closed species' so much as a means to protect intellectual copyright, but if I somehow crossed the rules for closed species in general or the Primagen, lemme know and I'll remove this.
